Diploma of Nutritional Medicine HLT61007
Now VET Fee-Help Approved! Begin an exciting new career in Nutritional Medicine by studying at AIAS! A qualified nutritionist gives people advice about diet and food to help them improve their overall health and wellbeing. Courses in nutrition are popular because they lead to work in a range of environments including:
- Self-employed in their own business or in partnership with other nutrition consultants
- As a referral consultant for practitioners in other healthcare and fitness modalities such as personal trainers, massage therapists or homeopaths
- Large General Practice medical clinics
- Gymnasiums
- Child care facilities
- Aged care facilities
What's the difference between a Nutritionist and a Dietician? Both nutritionists and dieticians provide dietary advice to people. A qualified dietician must be degree qualified whereas an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine is sufficient to qualify as a nutritionist. Only dieticians can work in public hospitals (to give dietary advice to hospital patients). If you do not see yourself providing advice to patients in a hospital environment, consider the faster career pathway of a Nutritionist.
